The Wellington Eye Clinic are delighted to be one of the sponsors of the TopGolfer Tour for Ireland's best golfers. 30 events have been scheduled across the country for golfers with handicaps of 9 and lower. At the end of the tour, the 30 winners from each event play off to determine Ireland's Top Golfer at a 2-day event at Carton House. WEC Official Opening with Padraig Harrington
The official guest of honour at the Wellington Eye Clinic opening of its new premises at the Beacon Medical Campus was PADRAIG HARRINGTON. Padraig spent about 4 hours at the WEC after doing the official unveiling of the plaque and then mingled with approximately 200 guests. He really made a great impression on all present.
Mr. Arthur Cummings and Mr. Richard Corkin commented on the value of excellent staff and technology and how important it was in the ophthalmic surgery field to stay abreast of new advances.
During the official speeches it was mentioned at one point that Padraig was noticed practicing putting in the dark after the day’s play at the Ryder Cup matches at the K-Club. It was mentioned that his fantastic work ethic would definitely pay off one day and that he, just like the Wellington Eye Clinic, was striving to become better all the time. Padraig had everyone in stitches when he mentioned “You missed the point here. The truth is, following my operation with you, I can now see in the dark.” Padraig was treated with the WaveLight Allegretto excimer laser; the only laser to date that could demonstrate the ability to reduce higher order aberrations in FDA clinical trials.
Padraig further made the following comments:“I came to the Wellington Eye Clinic seeking an edge. Professional golf is extremely competitive and anything that can help my game is to be welcomed.”
“I was referred by Paul McGinley who had his surgery here before I did. I noticed that he was seeing better than I was on the course and he advised me to come and see what the Wellington Eye Clinic could do for me.”
The Wellington Eye Clinic is very proud to have helped Padraig to achieve greater things in his professional golfing career and following his surgery, he went on to win the German Masters the very next weekend. The 3 Major victories are obviously his crowning glory.
