About the Wellington Eye Clinic
The Wellington Eye Clinic was founded in 1980 and since then it has expanded its premises and services. In December 2006 the Clinic relocated from its Ballsbridge premises to its state-of-the-art new premises in the Beacon Medical Campus in Sandyford.
The Clinic introduced laser refractive surgery to Ireland in 1990. Only the most advanced and safest laser technology is used to treat our patients.
All the procedures are performed in our dedicated operating theatre within the Clinic.
Surgeons from all over the world attend the Clinic to learn these advanced surgical techniques. The Clinic was awarded the status of Global Ambassador Clinic for the Wavelight Laser Company in 2006.
Surgeons and optometrists at the Wellington Eye Clinic are trained to treat all ophthalmic conditions. In addition, our surgeons subspecialise in anterior segment surgery (i.e. corneal, glaucoma and lens surgery). They are on the specialist register of the Irish Medical Council. To date, we have performed over 27,000 surgical procedures.
